Sweet relief...totally short lived!
Well
my other blog stated my issue with people not giving their two weeks
notice. Now I realize something else. i have an issue with people who
take a job and continue looking for another job in the meantime. That's
right, my sweet relief in the form of Tori has found another job one that happens to pay 100% of her insurance, which I can't compete with. I'm
beginning to think my deodorant is not working or something because
this is getting to be really impossible. She told me today and gave me
her two weeks notice, which is fantastic. I immediately list the job
and have three contacts. Good news. Anywho, so I'm off again to
interview, train and hopefully retain the newest addition to the Beau
Monde team. So in another two weeks I'll start my normal "old" hours again.
SO, tomorrow starts the first week of my new schedule! YIPPEE! It has
been a year since I have not had to work on Monday's so this is kinda
cool, and it makes me excited. The new girl I hired, Tori, she is
working out like a dream...a few tweaks here and there and some more
organization and we are back on track as far as working together as a
team. My role at work has changed in a major way. I went from newbie
with the sucky schedule to manager who needs to learn to delegate,
address situations immediately, and ORGANIZE! My newest help, an
iphone, and a calendar with multicolored stickers that I can get
everyone organized and on the same page....that sounded a little
elementary it's not, it's made by real simple. I'm learning my role a
lot better and I have a couple of great teacher, my boss Gale & my
dad. I am so excited to be working normal hours again! We also added to our family
We got a puppy, a miniature dachshund, his name
is Rowdy and he is such a good puppy. Of course putting him in his
crate the first night was a total disaster and the end result was a
happy sleeping puppy...in our bed. Other than that, the potty training
thing is going pretty good. We're really consistent with taking him out
A LOT. He is such a sweet boy, very cuddly and funny. We're both really
happy to have him.
Here he is with a little tummy rub, which he loves!
He loves to curl up and cuddle too, which is super cute!
He looks so innocent, I'm sure after a few more messes or chewed up shoes I'll think differently!
Off to do some laundry...and remember that potty training? uh I have to clean up a mess =0)
So, it has been a very long time since I've posted. Sometimes I revolt against posting. I don't know why, it's like teaching Xanga a lesson when in fact Xanga doesn't care whether I post or not. A lot has happened in 3 months! We've celebrated our 5 year anniversary which was exciting and kind of weird to think it has actually been that long. We went to Ruth's Chris Steak house where they cook the steaks in an oven that's 500 degrees and it's cooked in butter...it was by far and large the best steak we've ever had. However, definitely not even close to being a place that we'll go to more than once a year. After that we went to a park and my sister took pictures of us, then we went to Border's and stayed at a hotel for the evening. It was SO NICE we slept in, had breakfast and then hung out the whole day doing nothing. I always work on Saturday's so it was nice to have a Saturday where I wasn't working. This last weekend we went to Georgia to visit my grandparents and go yurting. What's yurting you say? This is a Yurt...
This is the inside of a yurt
It's actually a pretty cool setup and especially for me because I'm not big at all on camping. I like air conditiong, indoor plumbing and a kitchen BUT the simple fact that they had hardwood floor and real furniture made it pretty comfortable without all of those amenities. Not to mention the weather was amazing so we didn't even need A/C. It turned out to be a pretty awesome weekend, spent swimming, skiing, wakeboarding, grilling, eating and fishing. We will do it again next year in our special Yurt, only this time we're reserving all 5 Yurts so we can have our own little compound. Well goodbye for now, I'm spending my day off with my little brothers...
My sister Michelle, who lives with us, recently purchased this strangely adorable little puppy named Molly. For all of you out there, yes I know she is ugly and has weird bug eyes but there is something about her that I just can't get enough of.
She is something else really, just recently she has decided that chewing on things is a very important hobby. Michelle and her fiance' are growing weary and it hasn't even been a week!!!
She is hillarious, and as soon as I can figure out how to put a video on here I will put one up of her snoring! It's unbelievable. In other news my baby sister is engaged. Her and Chris have been dating for over 3 years so we all knew it was coming. She will be getting married in late October and I will say it will be a beautiful wedding. There is something about having to plan another wedding that is slightly disheartening, don't get me wrong I love weddings, but it kind of gets a little old hat when you've been in 4, and helped plan all 4 in detail. I'm almost relieved this is the last one (until we have kids in which case I'm sure we'll be rolling in the dough and I'll hire a wedding planner). So that's new news, we are excited and she actually has twice as much time to plan this shindig as Kel and I had. Kudos to her, time is on her side!
